Improve your knowledge of scar aftercare and claim CPD revalidation
In a survey with over 900 nurses, one in five told us that patients in primary care are seeking their advice on a weekly basis1. |
In response, we created a new, free module ‘Management of Patients with Scarring in Primary Care’ to help you build your knowledge in this area. |
The module is authored by Dermatology Specialist Nurse, Julie Van Onselen, and counts towards your CPD through the NMC revalidation process.
Addressing four key areas of care, the module covers:
- The physiology of scars; including different scar types and the healing and maturation process.
- The psychological and social impact of scars.
- Current evidence-based treatments, self-care options and emerging therapies to reduce scarring.
- Practical guidance and resources for discussing scarring with patients.
- You will see patients with scarring and don't feel confident in providing support.
- You will perform minor surgeries/procedures (or provide wound care advice following), and would like to ensure that aftercare is neatly embedded into your consultations.
- You have a general interest and would like to gain CPD revalidation in a new area.

Upon completion of the training you will receive a free e-certificate and information on how you can complete the revalidation process. |
